PINETOPS, N.C. – Ashley Webb, 38, and George Norville, 39, were found dead from gunshot wounds in what the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office believes to be a murder-suicide.
Deputies responded to a call around 12:07 a.m. regarding suspicious vehicles on Pinetops-Crisp Road, south of Pinetops.
Upon arrival, deputies found both Webb and Norville dead. Investigators believe the two were in a dating relationship and were in separate vehicles at the time of the incident.
It is believed that Norville was chasing Webb, who turned into a yard in an attempt to get help before being shot.
The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department.
