Akron Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Credit Card Theft Suspect

AKRON, OH – The Akron Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who used a stolen credit card to purchase over $5,000 worth of items from the Buckeye Smoke Shop on N. Portage Path on September 8.

The department has released surveillance images of the suspect and urges anyone with information to contact Akron Police Detective R. Bassett at 330-375-2600 or the APD Tip Line at 330-375-2TIP. Tips can also be submitted to Summit County Crimestoppers, Inc. at 330-434-COPS (2677) or by texting TIPSCO to 274637 (CRIMES).

Callers can remain anonymous, and the department has provided options for secure tip submission through the Akron PD app or their website, www.AkronCops.org. The public is advised not to approach the suspect.
