TRENTON, NJ – According to Vice President Kamala Harris, ‘assault weapons’ have no place in society, unless they’re owned by the government. She said the weapons, designed for killing large amounts of people do not belong on the streets of a ‘civil society’.
America is anything but a civil society where crime is rampant in major cities where criminals are armed with illegally obtained guns. Instead of addressing that problem, Harris instead calls for the disarming of legal and law-abiding gun owners.
“Assault weapons are weapons of war that were designed to kill a lot of people quickly. They have no place on the streets of civil society. It is time to renew the assault weapons ban,” she said.
States like New Jersey have the strictest gun laws in America and it is one of the safest states. Lawmakers accomplished that goal by legislating firearms, but not confiscating them.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy also wants your guns. He has repeatedly called for more comprehensive gun control laws and has even supported an assault weapon ban.
