TRENTON, NJ — U.S. Senator Cory Booker has partnered with New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Education Fund and several other nonprofit organizations to release an animated video aimed at educating voters on the different ways they can cast their ballots in the upcoming November 7th General Election.

The video highlights three main voting options: vote-by-mail, early in-person voting, and in-person voting on Election Day. This initiative aims to boost voter turnout, which tends to be low in elections where the President is not on the ballot. “Elections matter at every level of government,” said Kristin Zilcosky,

Senior Director of Digital Engagement, New Jersey LCV Education Fund. “We thank Senator Booker for helping us get the word out about the convenient and secure options to cast a ballot this year.”

Jesse Burns, Executive Director of the League of Women Voters of New Jersey, noted that outreach like this is essential to reverse New Jersey’s trend of low voter participation. “Initiatives like this are critical for reversing New Jersey’s trend of low voter participation, particularly in off-year elections when a lot is at stake, but there is less awareness of voting options,” said Burns.

This year, the election holds particular significance as the entire New Jersey State legislature is up for election, along with critical local offices such as the Board of Education and County Commissioners.

“These elected officials make key decisions that affect our daily lives and set policies for years to come,” stressed Arati Kreibich, Director of Democracy Organizing at New Jersey Working Families.

Micauri Vargas, Associate Counsel at the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice, said the video aims to uplift and inform voters about their options, given that this election has much at stake, from climate change to gun safety and racial equity. Richard T. Smith, President of the NAACP New Jersey State Conference, also emphasized the urgent need to educate voters, saying, “our democracy is literally at stake.”

With efforts like this video, civic organizations and elected officials hope to drive voter turnout and engagement for the November elections, underscoring the importance of participating in local and state elections.
