Multiple Vehicle Break-ins and Thefts Reported Across Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, MD – Howard County Police Department released their daily crime bulletin for October 19, detailing a series of thefts from vehicles and vehicle thefts occurring across different regions in the county.

In Columbia, vehicle break-ins were reported on the 10200 block of Hickory Ridge Road during the night of Oct. 17-18 with various items stolen. Another incident occurred on Oct. 19, around 11:50 a.m. on the 10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway, where again, various items were reported stolen.

Columbia, saw a break-in on the 7200 block of Lee Deforest Drive at 9:40 p.m., on Oct. 18, although it remains unclear if anything was stolen. Another incident occurred on the 7000 block of Copperwood Way on Oct. 19 at 9:10 a.m., where a catalytic converter was stolen.


In Laurel, four vehicles were broken into overnight between Oct. 18-19 on the 9600 block of Jester Court, and various items were stolen.

Vehicle theft was also reported across the county. In Elkridge, 21075, a White Freightliner box truck was stolen from the intersection of Amberton Drive & San Tomas Road on Oct. 18 at 6 a.m. The vehicle bore the tags MD/9DP1029.

In Ellicott City, a 2019 brown Kia Sorrento was stolen from the 8400 block of Baltimore National Pike on Oct. 18 at 7:15 p.m., with the license plate MD/6DA1607.

Two vehicle thefts were reported in Columbia, overnight between Oct. 18-19. A 2015 green Yamaha FZ-07 motorcycle was stolen from the 5800 block of Wyndham Circle, bearing the tags MD/2869Y0. Additionally, a 2022 white Cadillac Escalade was stolen from the 5200 block of Brook Way.

The Howard County Police Department is urging residents to remain vigilant, lock their vehicles, and report any suspicious activity as they continue to investigate these incidents.
