ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Detective Leavander Jones engaged with local students this morning as part of “A Day in the Life” professional series at Atlantic City High School.

The school and the Youth Services Division for the City of Atlantic City hosted the event.

Detective Jones, an Atlantic City native and Atlantic City High School graduate, presented to approximately 100 students about the responsibilities and experiences of a Juvenile Unit detective at the Prosecutor’s Office.

His unique perspective offered students relatable guidance on preparing for a law enforcement career.

Following the high school event, Detective Jones was joined by Assistant Prosecutor David Little and Deputy Director of Community Outreach Shavonne Davis at the Atlantic City Boys and Girls Club for a Career Fair. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office (ACPO) team discussed various career paths within law enforcement, including roles for prosecutors, detectives, and civilians. They engaged with students, providing valuable insights into potential career opportunities.
