New Jersey Cop Dragged A Full Block By Suspect Fleeing Motor Vehicle Stop

PERTH AMBOY, NJ – In an incident on Friday evening, a detective from the Perth Amboy Police Department was dragged for approximately a block during a routine motor vehicle stop after the driver made a sudden escape attempt.

The detective was thrown against two cars before landing on the ground, sustaining multiple injuries, including head trauma.

He has since been released from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital after receiving necessary emergency care.


Due to the efforts of the department and advanced technological resources, the suspect’s vehicle was located within an hour of the incident.

The driver has since been arrested and now faces a series of criminal and motor vehicle charges in relation to the case.
