Phil Stilton

PLUMSTED, NJ – Laurita Winery has been cited for 17 health violations, authorities confirmed. Inspectors noted noncompliance issues including the presence of fly strips over food preparation areas, inadequately labeled shellfish stock, and the absence of requisite temperature measuring instruments for food.

The report was made available after an inspection by the Ocean County Health Department.

The establishment at 85 Archertown Road underwent a routine inspection that led to the discovery. Violations mainly concerned the winery’s food safety management, highlighting disorganized practices, cleanliness deficits, and potential risks for cross-contamination.

Regulatory measures enforced by the health department mandate the winery to distinguish between raw and ready-to-eat food items, ensuring proper storage to prevent contamination. Further, it was instructed that all food items be stored at least six inches above the floor to meet health standards.

The winery is expected to promptly address and rectify the cited issues to comply with health regulations.
