Watch: Sovereign Citizen Finds Out Florida’s Laws Are Real During Traffic Stop

VOLUSIA, FL – A recent traffic stop in Volusia County escalated when deputies encountered individuals claiming to be sovereign citizens, resulting in multiple arrests.

“You mean I need to have a driver’s license?” the man says, as a woman tells police to leave the man alone, rambling on a mobile phone.

On Saturday, Volusia Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle displaying a sovereign citizen tag. The situation quickly intensified as another individual confronted the deputies.


Detry Wogerman, born March 23, 1965, was arrested on several charges, including driving an unregistered motor vehicle, driving with a suspended or revoked license (habitual offender), and resisting an officer without violence.

Laralynne Nabozny, born April 28, 1980, faced charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence.
