One Dead in Thanksgiving Night Shooting in Landover Hills

LANDOVER HILLS, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Landover Hills on Thursday night, resulting in the death of 45-year-old Frederico Cruz Ojeda.

The incident took place on November 23, 2023, around 7:15 pm, in the 7100 block of Webster Street. Officers, responding to reports of a shooting, discovered Cruz Ojeda with gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the search for the suspect or suspects is ongoing. The Homicide Unit of the PGPD is leading the investigation, adhering to their protocol for all homicides in Landover Hills.


In an effort to encourage public cooperation, authorities have announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
