PandaEar Recalls Stainless Steel Children’s Cups Due to Violation of Federal Lead Content Ban; Sold Exclusively on Amazon.com

PandaEar has announced a recall of about 1,600 stainless steel toddler cups due to health and safety risks. The 8 oz. PandaEar Stainless Steel Toddler Cups, sold in sets of two in pink and gray or blue and gray with matching silicone straws, have been identified as hazardous.

The recall, prompted by the discovery of an accessible solder bead with high levels of lead on the cup’s bottom exterior, poses a toxic risk if ingested by children. Additionally, the cup’s lid can crack and break, creating sharp edges and small parts that present choking and laceration hazards.

No incidents or injuries have been reported. The cups were available online at Amazon.com from May through August 2023 for around $12.

Customers are advised to immediately cease using the recalled cups and keep them away from children. They are entitled to a full refund and can contact PandaEar for this purpose. PandaEar and Amazon are actively reaching out to all known purchasers to facilitate the recall process.

The cups were manufactured in China and are identified by recall number 24-716.
