STRASBURG, PA – Derrick S. Myers, a 34-year-old resident of Strasburg, was sentenced last Friday to a prison term ranging from 55 to 112 years.

This sentence was handed down by Lancaster County President Judge David Ashworth. Myers, residing on the 200 block of W. Main Street, faced a jury in August for charges including child rape and numerous additional sex offenses dating back to around 2018, as well as domestic violence and witness intimidation charges from 2022.

A licensed psychologist identified Myers as a sexually violent predator, mandating lifetime sex offender registration under Megan’s Law. The jury, convinced beyond a reasonable doubt, found Myers guilty of the sexual offenses first disclosed in 2022.

The evidence presented during the trial included oil/lubricant bottles and a condom containing DNA from both Myers and the victim. The prosecution’s case was further strengthened by testimony from forensic interviewers with the Lancaster County Children’s Alliance and a child sexual assault expert.

In 2022, Myers faced additional charges, including false imprisonment and terroristic threats, after incidents involving the victim’s mother and a minor witness. Myers attempted to coerce the witness to assume responsibility for the offenses and threatened violence if his demands were not met.
