VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – The Virginia Beach Police Department is investigating a theft incident that occurred on November 30, 2023, at the Wells Fargo bank on Providence Road. A female suspect is believed to be involved in the theft of $33,000 from a bank customer.

The victim had withdrawn the large sum of money from the bank when the female suspect entered the bank immediately after. Rather than conducting any transaction, the suspect merely stood in line, observing. Following the victim’s exit from the bank, the suspect trailed her to her vehicle.

Surveillance footage captured a male accomplice approaching the victim’s vehicle, appearing to squat down beside it and then walking over to the nearby 7-Eleven. The victim, upon returning to her vehicle, discovered a flat tire. During the distraction, while the male was ostensibly assisting the victim with the tire, the female suspect stealthily took the $33,000 from the victim’s purse.

Both suspects were seen leaving the scene in a white SUV, possibly bearing Florida license plates.

In light of this incident, the Virginia Beach Police Department urges the public to be vigilant, especially during this time of year. Citizens are advised to watch their surroundings and keep valuables secure at all times.

The Virginia Beach Crime Solvers, Inc. is also involved in the investigation.
