HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson has announced the arrest and charging of Collen M. Brown, a 25-year-old from Jamaica, NY, following a road rage incident on Interstate 78. The New Jersey State Police conducted the investigation leading to Brown’s arrest.
The incident, which occurred on December 15, around 3:00 pm, involved a confrontation between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck on Interstate 78 in Readington Township. Brown, driving the pickup truck, allegedly fired a 9 mm handgun at the tractor-trailer, striking its engine compartment and rendering it disabled. Brown then fled the scene.
Brown faces several serious charges, including possession of a handgun without a permit, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault by attempting to cause bodily harm, and aggravated assault by knowingly pointing a firearm. These charges range from second to fourth degree, with potential penalties including imprisonment and significant fines.
Brown is currently held at the Warren County Correctional Center, with a detention hearing scheduled for January 2, 2024.
