19-Year-Old Cop Carjacker Arrested in Maryland

OXON HILL, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department has charged 19-year-old Anthony Stewart of Washington, DC, in connection with a recent carjacking incident involving an off-duty PGPD officer. Efforts are ongoing to identify a second suspect in the case.

The incident occurred on December 28 at approximately 5:05 PM in the 6700 block of Oxon Hill Road. Two suspects confronted the officer’s family while they were inside their personal vehicle and forced them out.

During the incident, the officer discharged his duty weapon, but no injuries were reported.


Following an investigation, PGPD detectives located Stewart, and he was apprehended in Washington, DC, with assistance from the Metropolitan Police Department. Currently held in custody in Washington, DC, Stewart awaits extradition to Prince George’s County. He faces charges including carjacking, robbery, theft, and additional charges.
