LUTHERVILLE, MD – The Baltimore County Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the area of Interstate 695 and Charles Street in Lutherville on Sunday, December 24, 2023.
At approximately 6:00 p.m., officers from Precinct 6 – Towson responded to the incident. The crash involved a 2019 Kia Rio, driven by 26-year-old Eliezer Nshimiyimana, which was traveling off Interstate 695. The Kia Rio reportedly ran through a red light at Charles Street and collided with a 2024 Subaru Legacy.
Nshimiyimana sustained serious life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The passenger in the Kia Rio, 46-year-old Byakweri Nshimiye, also transported to the hospital, was later pronounced deceased. The Subaru’s driver received non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment
