FAIR LAWN – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Fair Lawn, effective from 6:00 p.m. Saturday to 6:00 p.m. Sunday. The forecast predicts mixed precipitation, starting as snow Saturday afternoon and continuing through Sunday afternoon, with transitions between snow and rain.
Total snow accumulation is estimated to be between 1 – 3 inches across the county, characterized as heavy and wet. Slight changes in the storm’s intensity or track could alter these predictions. Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to upper 30s, with winds at 10 – 15 MPH and gusts up to 25 MPH. Residents are urged to stay updated on local weather conditions and be aware of potential flood risks.
Fair Lawn residents are requested to remove vehicles from streets until roads are sufficiently plowed. This cooperation will aid public works employees in clearing snow and ice efficiently. A borough ordinance prohibits the disposal of snow onto streets. Residents are also reminded to clear snow around fire hydrants and crosswalks for safety reasons.
