LAPORTE COUNTY, IN – In a heartbreaking case, 28-year-old Mary Yoder has been sentenced to 42 years in prison for her involvement in the horrific abuse and eventual death of her 4-year-old son, Judah Morgan. LaPorte County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Alevizos issued the sentence following Yoder’s guilty plea to charges of neglect resulting in death and domestic battery to a child.

Judah Morgan suffered extreme neglect and abuse, being starved, beaten, and confined in a dark basement. Tragically, he was ultimately beaten to death by his father, Alan Morgan, over potty training failures. Alan Morgan pleaded guilty to multiple felonies, including murder and battery, in 2022 and was sentenced to 70 years in prison.

Mary Yoder’s plea in August 2023 acknowledged her role in the neglect and abuse that led to her son’s death. Additionally, she faced charges related to the abuse of Judah’s younger sibling.
