MEMPHIS, TN – A 55-year-old woman, Cassandra Collins, was arrested in Memphis, Tennessee, over the weekend for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend multiple times in the face. The incident, as reported by Law&Crime, occurred after she noticed several calls from his ex-girlfriend on his phone.

Collins was taken into custody on Saturday and faces a charge of felony aggravated assault following the domestic violence attack. Memphis Police Department officers and emergency medical personnel responded to a call at around 3:11 a.m. on January 6, 2024, at an apartment complex on the 300 block of Madison Avenue in Shelby.

First responders found Collins’ boyfriend in the fourth-floor apartment with multiple stab wounds. He was immediately taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. The victim reported that he had been invited over by Collins. The couple were drinking beers and were about to engage in sexual activity when Collins, reportedly enraged by the phone calls, grabbed a butcher knife from the kitchen and attacked him, stabbing him four times in the face and once in the arm.

Police recovered the butcher knife used in the assault during a consented search of the apartment. Collins was subsequently arrested and transported to the department’s Felony Response Unit.
