FISH HAVEN, UT – Dwan Jacobsen Young, a resident of Fish Haven, Utah, has been officially recognized as the world’s oldest female water skier at age 92. Young began her water skiing journey in 1961 on Lake Bear at the age of 29 and has continued the sport ever since.

In a statement to Guinness World Records, Young shared her enduring enthusiasm for water skiing, noting the excitement she feels every time she’s on the water, despite the initial butterflies. Her passion for the sport has become a family affair, as she is often accompanied by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Unknown to Young, her family had applied for the Guinness World Records title on her behalf, surprising her with the news at a family Christmas party. The announcement was made through a video showcasing her water skiing this summer, followed by the presentation of the official Guinness World Records certificate.

Overwhelmed by the honor, Young expressed her disbelief and gratitude, underscoring a remarkable life of active leisure and family involvement in water sports.
