Toms River Area Expecting 2-4 Inches of Snow Overnight Followed by Freezing Rain

TOMS RIVER, NJ — Residents of Toms River can expect significant snowfall tonight, with a low temperature around 25 degrees. Calm winds will shift to the northeast at about 5 mph after midnight. The likelihood of snow is 100%, with accumulations between 2 and 4 inches.

On Tuesday, a mix of rain and snow is forecasted before 2 pm, transitioning to a chance of rain between 2 pm and 5 pm. The evening may bring a mix of rain or freezing rain after 5 pm. The high temperature will be near 39 degrees. East winds of 10 to 15 mph will turn west in the afternoon, with possible gusts up to 25 mph. The chance of precipitation remains high at 90%. Little to no ice accumulation is expected, and new snowfall will likely be less than half an inch.

The Winter Weather Advisory will continue until 1 pm EST Tuesday. This period will see a combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Expected snow accumulations are 1 to 3 inches, along with ice accumulations of less than a tenth of an inch. Residents should exercise caution and prepare for slippery road conditions.
