A delegation of New Jersey state legislators and elected officials, including three newly elected Republican Assembly members and the Mayor of Middletown, is set to visit Israel next week. The group, which includes Assemblymen Michael Inganamort, Paul Kanitra, Greg Myhre, and Middletown Mayor Tony Perry, will tour communities near the Gaza border that have been impacted by recent conflicts.

Organized by the Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest NJ, the visit aims to provide the delegation with firsthand insights into the challenges faced by these communities. The legislators will meet with families affected by attacks, local officials, and those involved in relief efforts.

The delegation will visit a kibbutz along the Gaza border, one of the areas severely affected by the attacks on October 7. They will hear from families who lost relatives and from residents who defended their community during the conflict. The delegation will also deliver letters from New Jersey students to Muslim and Jewish students in Jerusalem, engage with local volunteer centers, and meet patients at a hospital who have been wounded in the war.

Additionally, the itinerary includes meetings with members of the Knesset, Israel’s legislature, community representatives, nonprofit leaders, and other local officials. This visit represents an opportunity for the New Jersey delegation to gain a deeper understanding of the situation and to strengthen ties with Israeli communities and leaders.
