A serious house fire occurred on Thursday, January 18th, at approximately 10:04 PM, in the 500 block of Pasadena Drive in the Magnolia Section of Gloucester Township, New Jersey, resulting in critical injuries to a resident.

The Gloucester Township Police Department, upon receiving the report of the fire, was informed there might be occupants trapped inside the residence. Upon arrival, officers encountered heavy smoke conditions. An alert neighbor had heroically rescued the sole occupant of the house before the arrival of the emergency services.

Firefighting units from Glendora Fire Company Station 81, Chews Landing Fire Department Station 82, Gloucester Twp. Squad 88, Runnemede Fire Department, Magnolia Fire Company Sta. 29, Somerdale Fire Department, and Bellmawr Fire Department responded swiftly. They successfully contained the fire to the rear of the single-story dwelling.

The occupant was initially treated on the scene by Virtua Paramedics and then airlifted in critical condition to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. The airlift operation was assisted by the Somerdale Police Department and Runnemede Police Department, with transportation provided by PENNSTAR.

Currently, the fire does not appear to be suspicious. However, it is under investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Department Investigations Bureau and the Camden County Fire Marshall’s Office.
