Shots Fired At Write State Over Property Dispute

FAIRBORN, OH – The Wright State Police responded to a shots fired incident at Cedar Hall on its Dayton campus on Monday evening. An alert issued just after 7 p.m. notified the university community of the situation.

The university’s police department confirmed that there were no injuries reported. An all-clear was given around 7:20 p.m., as mentioned in a social media post.

The incident, according to Wright State University Police, began over a dispute concerning missing property.


The suspect, identified as a non-student, has since been trespassed from campus.

In response to the incident, the university has made counseling and wellness services available to students. Raider Cares, a 24-hour crisis phone service, is available at 937-775-4567 for immediate emotional support and crisis intervention. Walk-in services will also be available from Tuesday, January 23, at 8:30 a.m. in 053 Student Union.
