NYPD Officer Suffers Neck and Back Injuries After Struck by Hit and Run Driver

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking public assistance following an assault that took place on Tuesday, January 23.

The incident involved a vehicle hitting a police officer during a traffic stop near Harlem River Drive and West 159 Street.

At approximately 6:03 pm, officers were conducting a stop of a Toyota Highlander when the vehicle struck an officer, causing neck and back injuries.


The officer was later hospitalized and is in stable condition. The assailants, described as males with light complexions, fled northbound on Harlem River Drive.
