14-Year-Old Arrested for Series of Armed Robberies in Northwest D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 14-year-old male from Northwest Washington, D.C., has been arrested by detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department in connection with a series of armed robberies.

The most recent incident occurred on Saturday at around 8:45 pm. According to the police report, the young suspect and accomplices confronted a man and a woman walking along the 1800 block of Vermont Avenue, Northwest. The suspect reportedly brandished a handgun, demanding valuables from the victims, who complied before the assailants fled.

Following the investigation, the 14-year-old was apprehended and charged with Armed Robbery. Additionally, he faces charges for a prior offense under a DC Superior Court custody order.


This prior incident took place on December 20th, at approximately 3:15 p.m., in the 1300 block of Florida Avenue, Northwest D.C. In this instance, the suspects, one of whom simulated being armed, approached the victims and forcibly took property before escaping the scene.
