Women Targeted in Multiple NYC Snatch and Grab Robberies

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department has reported two separate incidents of grand larceny occurring on Thursday, January 11.

The first incident occurred at around 9:30 am near Dekalb Avenue and Franklin Avenue. A 33-year-old female, while riding her bicycle, became a victim of theft when an unidentified individual, also on a bicycle, snatched her belongings from the rear basket and fled.

Later that day, at approximately 3:52 pm, a similar incident occurred near 569 Marcy Avenue. In this case, a 27-year-old female pedestrian had her wallet stolen by an unknown individual who approached her from behind and quickly left the scene. Both victims were unharmed.


The police department has released media related to these incidents, available at DCPI, to aid in identifying the suspect.
