Ewing, NJ – Aaron Adams, 41, of Ewing, has been sentenced to 45 years in state prison for the murder of his girlfriend in June 2020, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri. The sentencing was carried out by Mercer County Superior Court Judge Peter E. Warshaw on February 1.

Adams was convicted of murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in November 2023, following a three-week trial that concluded with a jury verdict. The conviction stems from a tragic incident on June 1, 2020, when Ewing police discovered the deceased body of Ashley Davis, 32, from Levittown, Pennsylvania, in the basement of a home on Glen Stewart Drive at approximately 6:30 p.m. Davis was found with visible wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into Davis’s death involved the execution of a search warrant at the residence, leading to the discovery of two air rifles and a handheld BB gun in proximity to her body. The scene also contained numerous used bags of suspected heroin. Davis’s boyfriend, Aaron Adams, who lived at the location, was initially charged with a weapons offense.

An autopsy later confirmed Davis’s death as a homicide, revealing she succumbed to a gunshot wound from a metal air gun pellet that caused massive internal bleeding by striking internal organs.
