Charlie Dwyer

Lakewood, NJ – A tragic incident at the Northern Recycling Center on 800 Towbin Avenue resulted in the death of a 50-year-old worker, Timothy Hannold of West Creek, on January 31st. The Lakewood Police Department, alongside other local and county emergency and investigative agencies, responded to the scene following reports of a worker sustaining fatal injuries during routine operations.

The accident occurred as employees were attempting to maneuver a large container recently delivered to the site. Unbeknownst to his colleagues, Hannold entered the container during this process. The attempt to upright the dumpster inadvertently caused the doors to shift, tragically pinning him against an interior wall, leading to fatal injuries.

The Lakewood Police Department has extended its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Mr. Hannold during this difficult time.
