SOMERVILLE, N.J. – The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, headed by Chief Dennis Manning, has announced an ongoing investigation into a homicide.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, around 10:20 p.m., when Somerville Police responded to a 911 call reporting an injured, unresponsive woman outside a residential complex on North Bridge Street, Somerville.
Upon arrival, officers found the 27-year-old victim with multiple stab wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by the officers and medical personnel, she was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity is currently withheld.
Investigators from the Somerville Police Department, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Crime Scene Investigations Unit, and the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiners Office are collaboratively working on the case. A postmortem examination is planned to confirm the victim’s identity and determine the cause and manner of death.
