San Francisco, CA – Wyn Leung, a 47-year-old San Francisco resident, has been convicted of the first-degree murder of his estranged wife, following her attendance at Palm Sunday services on March 25, 2018. The conviction, secured by the office of District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, also includes charges of felony domestic violence causing great bodily injury and violation of a restraining order causing injury.

District Attorney Brooke Jenkins expressed gratitude to the jury for their dedication to justice, emphasizing the importance of accountability for abusers.

Evidence presented at trial revealed the victim had filed for divorce from Leung, her abusive husband, and was recommended full custody of their two children by the Court Appointed Family Court Counsellor. Violating a domestic violence restraining order, Leung confronted his wife at the church three days before their scheduled Family Court date, resulting in a fatal altercation where he stabbed her 20 times.

Despite immediate law enforcement and first responder intervention, the victim succumbed to her injuries. Leung was subsequently arrested at the scene after refusing to comply with police orders.
