Clarkstown Implements Overnight Parking Ban to Aid Snow Removal Efforts

Adam Devine

Clarkstown, NY – The Town of Clarkstown reminds residents of the existing law that prohibits parking on all town roads during overnight hours from November 15 to April 1. This regulation is enforced to keep the streets clear of parked vehicles, posing a hazard to snow plow operations during winter.

As a storm approaches, the Clarkstown Police Department emphasizes the importance of adhering to this law to facilitate efficient snow and ice removal. Vehicles left on the streets overnight obstruct plow trucks, hindering their ability to clear the roads effectively.

Parking on any streets, roads, and highways in the town is banned between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. during the specified period.

The police department is increasing enforcement to ensure compliance with this law, urging all residents to cooperate and park their vehicles off the street to assist in keeping the roads safe and passable during winter weather conditions.
