Parsippany, NJ – The Parsippany Police Department has released an update regarding the anticipated snowstorm, with forecasts predicting at least 6 inches of snow for the area, potentially more. Given the unpredictability of weather forecasts, residents are advised to prepare accordingly for the incoming conditions.

Town offices will be closed tomorrow, February 13, in response to the expected severe weather. The department warns that driving conditions will be hazardous and advises against traveling until roads have been cleared. For those who must travel, increased travel time and caution are recommended due to longer stopping distances on wet or snow-covered roads.

In preparation for the storm, residents are reminded that parking on public roads is prohibited when they are covered in snow.

Vehicles found parked on the street during this time are subject to being ticketed and towed in accordance with Local Ordinance 405-10. Additionally, property owners are responsible for clearing sidewalks, handicap parking spots, and the area around fire hydrants within 24 hours after the storm ends, as stipulated by Local Ordinance 346-1.

The police department also emphasizes the importance of removing all accumulated snow and ice from vehicles before driving. Failure to comply with this safety measure can result in fines ranging from $500 to $1,500 per violation.

Residents are encouraged to heed these guidelines to ensure their own safety and the safety of others during the snowstorm.
