State Police Investigating After Vehicle Rams Police and Commuter Cars on George Washington Bridge

FORT LEE, NJ – Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin, alongside the Division of Criminal Justice (DCJ) and the New Jersey State Police (NJSP), has announced the start of an investigation following an incident where a vehicle, driven by two individuals, rammed into multiple police and commuter vehicles at the George Washington Bridge’s entrance in Fort Lee, New Jersey. The two suspects have been detained.

During the morning rush hour on Wednesday, law enforcement attempted to stop a Range Rover in Fort Lee as it neared the George Washington Bridge. The driver aggressively rammed into both police and civilian vehicles in an attempt to evade arrest. The pursuit ended with the vehicle being stopped and both occupants, identified as juveniles, taken into custody at the scene.

The DCJ and NJSP are conducting a joint investigation into the matter. Attorney General Platkin expressed his gratitude towards the law enforcement officers for their prompt action, which prevented serious injuries to commuters. He reaffirmed the commitment of his office to work closely with law enforcement partners to ensure the safety of New Jersey’s roads and its citizens.
