Juvenile Girl Injured in Shooting Incident in Wilkes-Barre

Wilkes-Barre, PA – A juvenile female was injured in a suspected shooting early Monday morning at a residence on Maffett Street in Wilkes-Barre.

At approximately 3:10 a.m. on February 12, police responded to a call at 99 Maffett Street, where they were met by an adult who reported a juvenile female inside an apartment with a possible gunshot wound to the abdomen. Emergency medical personnel, alongside officers, provided immediate aid to the victim found in a bedroom accompanied by three other juvenile females.

Further investigation led officers to the basement laundry room of 95 Maffett Street, which was identified as the incident scene. The area was secured, and detectives, along with the Pennsylvania State Police, were called in to process the scene. The Wilkes-Barre Detective Division is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The victim was transported to GWV for medical treatment, and her condition has not been disclosed.
