Fatal Pedestrian Collision on Georgia Avenue Investigated by Montgomery County Police

Montgomery, MD – A pedestrian fatality on Georgia Avenue is currently under investigation by the Montgomery County Police Department, according to official reports.

Detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) of the Montgomery County Department of Police are looking into a tragic incident that resulted in the death of an adult male pedestrian.

The incident took place in the 9500 block of Georgia Avenue near Flora Lane on Tuesday evening. At around 8:04 p.m., officers from the 3rd District and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene following a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.


The preliminary investigation has uncovered that the pedestrian was hit by a gray 2020 Honda CR-V traveling northbound on Georgia Avenue.

The collision occurred as the pedestrian was in the roadway near Flora Lane. The driver of the Honda remained at the scene following the incident. Early reports suggested that a second vehicle might have struck the pedestrian; however, this information has been deemed unfounded.

The pedestrian was found by officers and pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be disclosed after the next of kin has been properly notified. The Montgomery County Police Department has stated that this investigation is active and ongoing.
