Family Displaced Following Apartment Fire in Gloucester Township

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – A fire broke out in the Autumn Ridge Apartment Complex in the B Building at approximately 11:30 pm on Friday, resulting in injuries and displacement for a resident and her daughter. Gloucester Township Police were dispatched to the scene following reports of an apartment fire with entrapment and arrived to find smoke emanating from a second-floor apartment.

The officers successfully located the residents, a woman, and her daughter, as they were exiting the apartment and were able to extinguish the fire promptly.

Firefighters from the local department arrived shortly thereafter to assist, ensuring the scene was properly ventilated and assessed.


The two victims were transported to Cooper Trauma Center for treatment of smoke inhalation injuries. The fire is not being treated as suspicious but remains under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Blackwood Fire Department Station 84.

The incident serves as an important reminder for all residents to check their fire suppression and alarm systems regularly.
