Cleveland, OH – The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested 39-year-old Christopher Terry this afternoon, wanted by the Cleveland Police Department for aggravated vehicular homicide. Terry’s arrest comes as a result of his involvement in a high-speed crash that led to a fatal explosion on East 139th St. in November 2023.

On November 19, 2023, Terry was driving a 2019 Dodge Challenger at speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour when he lost control. The car crashed into trees, several front yards, and the porch of an apartment building before finally striking a home’s front porch. The impact caused severe damage to a gas line, triggering an explosion that killed a 68-year-old woman inside one of the apartments.

A warrant for Terry’s arrest was issued on February 5, 2024. The NOVFTF immediately took up the investigation and successfully located Terry near the 4200 block of Memphis Ave. in Cleveland, arresting him late this afternoon without incident. U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott commented on the arrest, emphasizing the tragedy of the victim’s death and expressing hope that Terry facing justice would aid in the healing process for all victims involved in the case.
