New Haven, CT – In a collaborative effort, the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, Connecticut State Police, Bridgeport Police Department, New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, and New York Police Department (NYPD) have arrested an adult and a juvenile fugitive in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Both individuals were wanted in connection with separate shooting incidents in New York.

The first incident occurred on May 22, 2022, at 2270 Walton Avenue in the Bronx, NY, where NYPD officers responded to a shooting. The victim survived, and Edwin Delacruz, 19, was arrested in June 2022. Delacruz later became a fugitive after failing to return to court. The second incident involved a juvenile who, on January 12, 2024, shot two individuals in a store at 85 Fordham Road in the Bronx, NY. Following an investigation, New York issued a warrant for the juvenile.

Both fugitives were found hiding at a residence on Myron Avenue in Bridgeport and were arrested this morning. They were transported to the Bridgeport Police Department for processing. During the arrest, a Glock 40 caliber handgun with an extended magazine was recovered, and charges are pending. The adult and juvenile are awaiting extradition to New York State to face Assault first-degree charges, marking a significant step in the pursuit of justice for the victims of these violent crimes.
