Money - Lottery winning jackpot.

Worchester County, Maryland – A Worcester County woman from Maryland’s Eastern Shore has claimed a $1 million Powerball prize from the September 27 drawing, solving the mystery of the unclaimed ticket. The ticket was purchased at Duck In II in Snow Hill, hoping to win the $835 million jackpot. Although she didn’t hit the jackpot, she became one of the four nationwide winners of the $1 million second-tier prize.

The winner, a warehouse worker, found the ticket while searching her wallet for another item, with no expectation of winning big. She sent her husband to a Lottery retailer to check the ticket, only to discover it was worth a million dollars after a double scan and confirmation from the store clerk. Overwhelmed with disbelief, the couple plans to pay off their home mortgage and donate a portion of their winnings to an animal rescue.

Duck In II, the retailer that sold the winning ticket, was also rewarded with a $2,500 bonus from the Lottery for their role in this happy story.
