Baltimore, MD – A major development has emerged in the investigation of a homicide that occurred in the early hours of July 4, 2022, in Southeast Baltimore. Baltimore Police have arrested 34-year-old Martez Brooks, linking him to the murder of 42-year-old Leroy Jeter III.

The incident began when officers on patrol in the 100 block of North Glover Street heard gunshots around 3:12 a.m. A subsequent search led them to Jeter, who was found in the 400 block of North Montford Avenue with multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention and transport to Johns Hopkins Hospital, Jeter was pronounced dead.
