Tammy Murphy Loses Another Key Political Convention in New Jersey

MOUNT HOLLY, NJ – New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s wife Tammy lost a landslide vote at a political convention for the Democrat party in Burlington County today

Congressman Andy Kim achieved a significant victory on Saturday in his quest for the Democratic Senate nomination by winning the Burlington County convention. This win provides him with a favorable ballot position in New Jersey, an advantage seen as crucial in the state’s political contests. Kim garnered an impressive 245 votes against 21 for his opponent, based on preliminary results from various sources and his own campaign.

This success adds to Kim’s momentum in a race that has proven challenging for New Jersey’s First Lady Tammy Murphy. Murphy’s campaign has encountered multiple obstacles, including losses in the state’s first two Democratic conventions, lagging behind in public polls, and the recent departure of her campaign manager without a named successor.

This is the second major victory for the First Lady as Kim defeated her in Monmouth County, where she and the governor live.

Kim’s victory in Burlington County marks a notable setback for Murphy, who has struggled in the early stages of the primary to replace the indicted Senator Bob Menendez.
