NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK — A man who fell asleep on a New York City Subway train this weekend was awoken to find he was being violated by a stranger on the same train.

The New York City Police Department has issued a call for public assistance in identifying a suspect linked to a sexual abuse case. The incident took place aboard a northbound 6 train nearing the Astor Place subway station early on Saturday.

A 25-year-old male, while asleep on the train, was subjected to an unwarranted intrusion by an unidentified individual who placed his hand inside the victim’s pants. The assailant subsequently exited the train, leaving the victim unharmed. Descriptions characterize the suspect as a male with a light complexion and a heavy build, last seen donning a dark baseball cap, green shirt, tan pants, and tan boots.
