Aberdeen Police Blotter: Here’s What’s Happening

ABERDEEN, NEW JERSEY — The Aberdeen Township Police Department has disclosed a series of arrests made over the past month, addressing a variety of charges ranging from contempt of court to aggravated assault.

On February 16, a 33-year-old Aberdeen woman was apprehended by Ptl. Andrew Gioia on contempt of court charges, stemming from warrants in both Aberdeen and Hamilton Township Municipal Courts. Days later, on February 20, a 44-year-old Aberdeen woman faced charges of aggravated assault, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest after an incident on Glassworks Boulevard, with Ptl. Christopher Shaw making the arrest. That same day, a 24-year-old Aberdeen man was charged with obstruction of justice and resisting arrest in a separate incident, also on Glassworks Boulevard, with Ptl. Shaw handling the arrest.

A motor vehicle crash on State Highway 35 on February 22 led to a 47-year-old man from Atlantic Highlands being charged with driving while intoxicated, with Ptl. Samuel Benson as the arresting officer. On February 25, a group including a 31-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, a 29-year-old woman from Queens, NY, a 21-year-old woman, and a 24-year-old man from Hamilton, NJ, were charged with shoplifting at the ShopRite Food Store, under the arrest of Ptl. Frank Maisano.


The month concluded with two more arrests on February 28. A 65-year-old Aberdeen man was charged with terroristic threats and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose after an incident on Myrtle Street, with Ptl. Hakim Bryant making the arrest. Additionally, a 33-year-old Hazlet man was charged with contempt of court based on a warrant from the Aberdeen Township Municipal Court, with Ptl. Robert Galati as the arresting officer.
