OLD TAPPAN, NJ – Police responded to a motor vehicle crash at 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, according to Old Tappan Police Chief Joseph Tracy.
Chief Tracy reported a 44-year-old father and his two daughters, ages 7 and 10, were found injured.
The family was crossing Kay Street at Charles Street in the crosswalk on their way to the T. Baldwin Demarest School when a 2016 Hyundai, making a left turn, struck them. Old Tappan ambulances transported the victims to local hospitals, where their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
The 51-year-old driver, a resident of Old Tappan, stayed at the accident scene. He received court summonses for failing to yield to pedestrians and careless driving, Tracy stated.
