EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — In a generous move to bolster community policing and public safety, the Evesham Police Foundation has donated two 2024 Harley Davidson Road King motorcycles to the Evesham Police Department. This event took place during the Evesham Township Council Meeting.

The Evesham Police Foundation, an independent non-profit organization, focuses on enhancing police-community relations, crime prevention, and public safety through funding specialized equipment and training. This donation, valued at $53,000, marks the largest single contribution of equipment to the police department by the foundation. Bill Gelernt, the Executive Director of the foundation, highlighted the aim of bridging the gap between the police force and private funding to improve services for Evesham Township residents.

Chief Walt Miller of the Evesham Police Department emphasized the significance of the foundation’s support. He remarked that such partnerships enable the department to elevate its service levels to the community without burdening taxpayers. The newly donated motorcycles will serve multiple purposes, including traffic enforcement, community engagement, and crowd control, marking the first time police motorcycles will be deployed in the department’s history.

Four officers have been chosen to operate the motorcycles and will undergo training at the Philadelphia Police Academy. The officers selected are Danielle Torres, Zach Amiss, Ian Traver, and Adrian Plocica. The department and the community look forward to the enhanced presence and capabilities these motorcycles will bring to Evesham Township.
