What’s That Smell? Smoke in South Jersey Tracked to South Jersey Country Club

EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Evesham Township Police Department has announced that a prescribed agricultural burn will take place today at Indian Springs County Club. This controlled burn is part of an environmental management strategy to promote the health of local plant areas.

The primary goal of the burn is to reduce invasive species, thereby allowing native grasses to thrive in the area. Residents in the vicinity of Elmwood Road, Main Street, and the Birch Hollow community might experience visible smoke or smell associated with the burn. The Evesham Fire Department will provide support with suppression units to ensure the burn is conducted safely and efficiently.

This ecological management technique is a critical measure for maintaining biodiversity and ecological balance within the township.
