Lakewood, NJ—Yisroel Kornik, a 33-year-old man from Lakewood, NJ, faces counterfeiting charges after being accused of selling fake postage stamps, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office reported. The charges stem from activities from October 2023 to the present, when Kornik allegedly purchased and imported counterfeit United States postage stamps from China to sell on online platforms, including Amazon and Walmart.

Despite receiving multiple warnings from United States Customs and Border Protection about the illegality of his actions, Kornik purportedly continued to import and sell these counterfeit stamps in large denominations. A search warrant executed at Kornik’s residence this past Tuesday led to the seizure of counterfeit stamps valued at over $10,000.

Following his arrest, Kornik was transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he was processed and charged. He is awaiting his first court appearance in Ocean County Superior Court, pending the proceedings. The case highlights the collaborative efforts of local and federal authorities to crack down on the illegal sale of counterfeit postage stamps.
