Bullet Fired into Lakewood Home, Police Investigating

LAKEWOOD, NJ – Authorities are currently investigating an incident where a bullet was fired into a Lakewood residence on Wednesday afternoon. Fortunately, no injuries were reported after the incident.

Residents reported hearing sounds akin to gunshots in the neighborhood on Sunday afternoon. This incident has prompted a response from law enforcement to determine the circumstances surrounding the gunfire.

Captain Gregory Staffordsmith of the Lakewood Police Department has stated that there appears to be no evidence indicating the home was intentionally targeted. It is suspected that the shot may have been discharged either negligently or recklessly.


Staffordsmith is calling on anyone with information to come forward and contact Detective Tyler Bennett at 732-363-0200 ext. 5405 to assist in the investigation.
