Cops Nab Delaware Man for 5th DUI Incident

Wilson Vazquez-Lopez, 31, of Ellendale, Delaware, was arrested by Delaware State Police for a 5th offense felony DUI on the night of March 21, 2024.

At around 10:30 p.m., a trooper patrolling the South Dupont Highway near Farmington observed a green GMC Sierra swerving erratically. Upon witnessing additional traffic infractions, the trooper initiated a traffic stop. Subsequent investigation revealed the driver, identified as Wilson Vazquez-Lopez, displayed signs of impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, leading to Vazquez-Lopez’s arrest for driving under the influence.

A computer check disclosed Vazquez-Lopez’s four prior DUI-related convictions. He was transported to Troop 3, where he faced charges and was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7. Vazquez-Lopez was subsequently remanded to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,200 cash bond.
